Label TextBaumann created these drawings in April 1927, during his second documented trip to the Grand Canyon. Unlike the weather during his first spring visit, on this trip it was overcast. Although the drawings from 1927 remain saturated in color, they are hazier, capturing shifts in the traditionally arid atmosphere of the American Southwest. Scholars have noted that watercolors by the San Ildefonso Pueblo artists were an important influence on his work.ProvenanceThe artist; Ann Baumann, Santa Rosa, CAOn View
