DescriptionTwo-piece construction; roped brim. Brass rosettes. Small holes on left and right sides of brim. Brazed (and perhaps patched) repair on one side.
Label TextThe alternating black-painted and polished areas gave this type of armor the name "black-and-white."ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on September 28, 1929 from estate of Bashford Dean (Riverdale, NY). Given to the Museum on July 1, 1954 Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, Janaury 2014.
