Label TextScherman was a "Life" magazine photographer living in Washington when Dylan was booked to play at the nearby Coliseum. He bought tickets for himself and his wife and sat in the house. During the show Scherman talked his way backstage with his "Life" credentials, and focused his Nikon camera with a 300mm lens on the singer. “Dylan was in that dirty blue spot,” he recalled, “I could see the whole thing: his hair, his halo, his harp.” Scherman shot six or seven frames, then returned to his seat. Great talent and a few intense moments produced the Grammy-winning image that became one of the most evocative of the period. On View
