DescriptionPhotograph from an album of 208 cyanotypes on cream wove paper.One of John Coulson's beautifully designed carpet beddings, an elaborate arrangement of plants that decorated the lawn between the family cottage and the Salisbury House, serves as the background for this cyanotype of a young man. The subject may be the photographer himself, who was twenty-two years old at the time.
